Associate Dean for Academic Programs

The School of Social Work invites applications and nominations for the position of Associate Dean for Academic Programs at the rank of Associate or Full Professor with tenure. The proposed start date is August 16, 2015. Candidates must have an established record of funded research, scholarship and teaching, and must meet the University’s requirements for that rank.


  • Provides leadership and guidance for the BSW, MSW, and PhD programs and non-degree programs
  • Ensures compliance with CSWE accreditation standards and university policies
  • Supervises the Assistant Deans for Student Affairs and for Field Education and degree program directors
  • Provides advice to the Dean regarding the academic programs and their strategic direction


The successful candidate will have an MSW and a doctoral degree in social work or a related field, experience in academic administration, and a strong record of teaching and research in social work commensurate with the rank of Associate of Full Professor with indefinite tenure along with a commitment to innovation in social work education. National involvement in social work education is desirable, e.g. through serving as a CSWE site visitor or on a CSWE commission.
