Davis Named Recipient of the 2018 SSWR Doctoral Dissertation Award

Jordan Davis, PhD ’17 has been named recipient of the 2018 Society for Social Work and Research Outstanding Social Work Doctoral Dissertation Award for his dissertation entitled, “Effect of Mindfulness Based on Relapse Prevention on Developmental Trends, Stress, and Substance Use among Adults in Residential Substance Use Treatment.”

Jordan’s research was judged by members of the Society to be most deserving of this prestigious award. In conferring the award, the Society recognizes the significance of the problem addressed in his research, the rigor of the analysis and its contribution to knowledge in social work and social welfare. The Society confers the award with the expectation that Jordan will continue to pursue excellence in research and knowledge development in social work.

The award presentation will take place on 1/13/18 at the 2018 SSWR Annual Conference in Washington, DC.
