Educational Background

Christine Escobar-Sawicki joined the Field Education Team in 2011 and is based in the Chicago land area. After obtaining her BSW (1995) from Illinois State University, Christine obtained her Master of Social Work (1997) from The University of Chicago, School of Social Service Administration.  She is also licensed as an LCSW.

Christine has spent most of her career working in the field of Forensic Interviewing in Children’s Advocacy Center settings. As a Forensic Interviewer, Christine has interviewed over 2,500 children regarding allegations of abuse/witnesses to crimes and has testified in over 100 court cases. Additionally, Christine has managed social workers, Forensic Interviewers, support staff and also developed and managed a Quality Improvement program. Christine has also worked in residential programs with adolescents and  with patients in an outpatient chemical dependency and mental health program.

She is also a member of the Board of Directors for the NASW-Illinois chapter where she serves as Member-At-Large.
