Julie attained her master’s degree in social work from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2008 and her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Illinois State University in 2004. Julie has nearly ten years of experience as a trainer and educator and has been with the School since 2015. Her background has been quite varied with most of her experiences related to macro level issues on autism and community nutrition with individuals, families, communities and other stakeholders. She also has experience in infant and maternal mental health, cultural sensitivity, community planning, health care policy and other developmental disabilities. Julie also served in the military and stays involved in women veteran issues, as a veteran herself.
Her primary role is assisting BSW students during the process of seeking their field placement site through collaboration with community providers. She also educates undergraduate students both inside and outside of the classroom prior and during their internships.Back to Faculty & Staff Directory
