Rachael Dietkus is the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs at the School of Social Work. She is responsible for recruitment, admissions, student affairs, academic advising and overseeing scholarships, fellowships, and other student awards. She functions as a member of the leadership team of the School and in the Academic Programs unit.
Rachael graduated from the University of Illinois with her Bachelor’s degree in 2000 in Sociology and her Master of Social Work degree in 2010 with a concentration in Advocacy, Leadership & Social Change. Rachael is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a member of the Association of Macro Practice Social Workers. Prior to joining the School, Rachael was the Health Care for Homeless Veterans Program Coordinator at VA Illiana where she worked closely with local, regional, and national partners in the effort to end homelessness among veterans. Rachael has worked in the non-profit sector as a director, fundraiser, and consultant, where a majority of her work focused on student leadership development, social justice, and human rights.
Rachael has also served as an AmeriCorps member and as a non-governmental organization delegate to the United Nations Human Rights Council. She is a current member of the University of Illinois School of Social Work Alumni Board.Back to Faculty & Staff Directory
