About

Shahana Begum is a Statistical Analysis Leader with the Center for Prevention Research and Development (CPRD) at the University of Illinois. Sha has a master’s degree in mathematics, majored in Statistics from the University of New Orleans. She has been with the center since December 2005 and leads the STAT team at the center. She works in multiple projects supporting the Principal Investigator (PIs) and the project coordinators by analyzing its relevant data, such as, Illinois Youth Survey (IYS) data, Prevention Hub Data, Home Visiting data, Medicaid claims data, and other sources of data. Her analysis includes but is not limited to program evaluation, measuring intervention effects, and community-based prevention programs. She worked in one-group pretest-posttest research design, quasi experimental design, and randomized controlled trial in school settings. Prior to her work at CPRD, she worked as a Statistician at a quality improvement organization dedicated to improving health quality of Medicare beneficiaries for the state of Louisiana.
