School of Social Work Alums Honored With Awards of Recognition

The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Illinois Chapter is honoring these individuals for their contributions to the social work profession as well as to the lives of the people that social workers help to serve.

  • Janet Reckard (’81) is being honored as the 2014 Social Worker of the Year for the East Central District.
  • Tonya Manselle (’83) is being honored as the 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient for the East Central District.
  • Charles Parr (’79) is being honored as the 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient for the Southern District.
  • Gregory Watson (’78) is being honored as the 2014 Social Worker of the Year for the Three Rivers District.
  • Karen Washington-Watson (’04) is being honored as the 2014 Social Worker of the Year for the West Central District.
