Position: Executive Director

Full Time with Benefits

The Executive Director is responsible to the Board of Directors for the overall administration of the program within the framework of policies established by the Board.


·         Establishes the direction of the agency in collaboration with the board.

·         Makes fiscal and program reports to the Board at Board meetings and to funding sources.

·         Administers the various funds and expenditures of the Center.

·         Organizes and supervises fund-raising and proposal writing.

·         Schedules and calls staff meetings.

·         Administers special programs at the Center to assist the refugees toward early self- sufficiency.

·         Schedules monthly evaluation meeting with office staff to ensure timely client progress toward self-sufficiency.

·         Develops and maintains job bank through contact with various sources and provides key liaison with employers for clients and agency.

·         Maintains liaison between Board and Staff.

·         Promotes good image of the agency through public relations (presentations, public speaking, attends meetings).

·         Represent the programs and point of view of the organization to agencies, organizations and the general public.

·         See that the board is kept fully informed on the condition of the organization and all important factors influencing it.

·         Publicize the activities of the organization, its programs and goals.

·         Establish sound working relationships and cooperative arrangements with community groups and organizations.



·         B.A. or M.A. in education, social work, or related field.

·         Administrative experience required.

·         Ability to maintain a good relationship with sponsors, clients, and local employers

·         Ability to work with people of different cultural backgrounds.

·         Good knowledge of local governmental, social service agencies, religious, social organizations, and business community

·         Knowledge of and experience in refugee resettlement needs and services.

·         Knowledge of available funding sources.

·         Knowledge of a language other than English is preferred.
