School of Social Work Ranked 6th in World, According to CWUR
Recent rankings from the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) have ranked the School of Social Work at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, 6th among all social work programs in the world, and 5th among U.S. programs.
These 2017 CWUR rankings are based on the number of research articles in top-tier journals, and strongly reflect on the research productivity of various schools; the CWUR Rankings by Subject 2017 rank the world’s leading universities in 227 subject categories using this criteria. CWUR also rank’s the world’s top 1,000 universities using more extensive indicators: Quality of Education, Alumni Employment, Quality of Faculty, Publications, Influence, Citations, Broad Impact and Patents, and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign ranked 36th in the world among all universities.
Illinois Social Work Dean, Steven Anderson, expressed his excitement about these new rankings. “These extraordinary rankings among the many fine social work schools in the world testify to the high level of research being conducted by our faculty members. This work not only has made us leaders in research, but is providing new knowledge that keeps our teaching on the cutting edge and supports communities in addressing important human services issues.”
