Town Hall Meeting
In the wake of the shooting at the Orlando nightclub, NASW and several chapters issued statements calling for “sensible gun laws, an end to a culture of hate, and the need for widespread teachings in our communities of the dignity and worth of all people.” *Who could have known that since then we would have the shootings of Alton Sterling in Louisiana and Philando Castile in Minnesota and the police officers in Dallas, Texas.
The School of Social Work promotes the values of the social work profession through its ongoing commitment to diversity and social justice. The social work profession has long been at the forefront of critical dialogues that surround injustice and the need for social change. In the spirit of dialogue, please join us for a Town Hall meeting on Thursday, July 14th from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. in Room 2027.
Let’s consider how our positive contributions can have an impact that empowers and strengthens one another and brings about change.
Lunch will be provided.
