**This course fulfills the sexual harassment prevention training requirement
This training equips participants with a clear understanding of what constitutes sexual harassment, how hostile environments contribute to the normalization of sexual harassment, and the legal protections in place under state and federal law. Through interactive scenarios and evidence-based strategies, attendees will learn how to recognize, respond to, and intervene in incidents of harassment. The session also emphasizes trauma-informed support for survivors and outlines employer responsibilities and employee rights. Resources for further action and support are provided.
Learning Objectives:
- Define sexual harassment and identify key components of hostile work environments based on state and federal laws.
- Demonstrate effective bystander intervention strategies and understand employer responsibilities associated with responding to harassment in the workplace.
- Recognize appropriate ways to support survivors of sexual harassment using trauma-informed communication, while being mindful of reporting options and available resources.

Workshop Presenter

Abbi Littell coordinates the violence prevention education program at Rape Advocacy, Counseling & Education Services (RACES). Originally from Ashland, Alabama, her passion for violence prevention began at Auburn University, where she later served as the school’s first Healthy Relationships Coordinator. Today, she leads school- and community-based programs on body safety, consent, and healthy relationships throughout RACES’s four-county service area: Champaign, Douglas, Ford, and Piatt Counties. When she’s not in the classroom, you can find her playing video games, writing, or reading books someone tried to ban.
