Professor Karen Tabb Dina Elected to Serve as President of the National Association of Perinatal Social Workers (NAPSW)

Karen Tabb Dina, PhD, MSW, FAASWSW has been elected to serve as President of the National Association of Perinatal Social Workers (NAPSW) for the 2025–2027 term.

NAPSW works to promote, expand, and enhance the role of social work in perinatal health care. The organization helps individuals, families, and communities respond to psychosocial issues that emerge during the period from pre-pregnancy through an infant’s first year of life.

“The organization has been around for over 50 years and has international reach,” says Karen. “The mission—‘The NAPSW is a group of social workers who help individuals, families, and communities respond to psychosocial issues that emerge during the period from pre-pregnancy through an infant’s first year of life’—aligns with my approach to social work research and practice over the past 20 years. As president, I seek to grow educational and mentoring opportunities for our membership. We have our in-person conference next April in Nashville, and all are welcome to join.”
