Social workers are expected to give endlessly—but without boundaries, that comes at a cost. This workshop explores self-care through setting and protecting boundaries, using practical tools for work with clients, organizations, and ourselves. Participants will leave with realistic, guilt-free strategies to reduce stress, prevent burnout, and stay effective.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify and reflect on personal and professional boundaries.
- Apply practical strategies for setting and maintaining self-care boundaries.
- Develop a personalized self-care plan.

Workshop Presenter

Julie Birky is a licensed clinical social worker, educator, and entrepreneur with 20 years of experience in mental health. Currently, she provides individual counseling, mental health education, and clinical supervision within a small private practice she owns & manages. Julie also teaches Introduction to Social Work at Parkland College and recently co-founded Prima Practice, Inc. to simplify the process of launching a business for new private practice owners.
