Four MSW students from the School of Social Work have been named recipients of the Illinois Rural Health Association Behavioral Health Workforce Development Scholarship. Congratulations to Melissa Walker Salyards, Tami Clymer, Chase Piers, and Elora Brandon on this well deserved recognition.
Each year, the Illinois Rural Health Association awards scholarships to students preparing for careers in rural, medically underserved communities across the state. The program was created to help address ongoing workforce shortages in behavioral health and to strengthen access to care in areas where services are often limited.
These students represent a strong commitment to expanding behavioral health services in rural Illinois. Their dedication to serving communities with the greatest need reflects the School’s mission to improve lives through leadership, practice, and community engagement.
