Exploring Social Work: An Illinois Experience for High School Students

The School of Social Work at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign invites high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors to participate in the Exploring Social Work: An Illinois Experience for High School Students.

This engaging one-day in-person exploration program introduces students to the field of social work and its impact on communities. Participants will connect with Illinois Social Work faculty, current students, and practicing professionals while exploring the field through interactive activities, community agency visits, and a hands-on service-learning project.

Program Highlights:

  • Hands-on volunteer experience 
  • Introduction to social work and its role in community service
  • Opportunities to develop leadership and volunteer skills
  • Lunch and a program t-shirt included

The program fee is $50 per student. This is an excellent opportunity for students considering a career in social work to gain insight into the profession while making a meaningful contribution to their community.
