Where Education Meets Practice

The internship is the foundation of social work education, offering immersive, hands-on learning experiences in a professional setting.

Placement Models

For the campus BSW and MSW programs, the block placement model allows you to fully dedicate yourself to a full-time internship after completing all coursework. This approach enables you to apply classroom knowledge and skills directly to real-world social work practice.

In the iBSW program, students follow a concurrent placement model, completing courses alongside their internship over two semesters.

Support for Your Success

Understanding the critical role of the internship, we provide a dedicated Field Education team of clinical faculty with real-world social work experience. A faculty liaison will help you secure a placement tailored to your learning needs and interests while offering guidance throughout the internship.

Additionally, you’ll participate in a concurrent integrative seminar course led by faculty specializing in field education. This robust support system equips you with the confidence, skills, and insight to thrive in your social work career.
