Professor Hong Li received a master’s degree in social work from the University of Iowa and a doctorate degree in social work from Washington University in St. Louis. She joined the School of Social Work in 1999. She was a Hartford Geriatric Social Work Faculty Scholar from 2001 to 2003.
Dr. Li has primary interests in family care giving, health care service needs of older adults with disabilities, and quality of mental health and health care services. Dr. Li has studied the role of family care giving in older adults’ recovery from physical and mental health problems. She has also studied the strategies for improving older adults’ access to needed health and mental health services.
