CEU Event for Field Instructors
April 5, 2019
School of Social Work
1010 West Nevada, Urbana
(9am-12 noon) 3 CEU’s Provided
In appreciation for your partnership with the School of Social Work, you are invited to attend a complimentary CEU event featuring Dr. Jan Carter-Black, Teaching Professor at the School of Social Work.
Many of you have asked for a conference that focuses on your role as a Field Instructor.
You’ve asked and we’ve listened!
Dr. Carter-Black’s presentation will focus on tips and best practice for setting the stage for a successful internship, handling difficult student situations, styles of supervision, as well as other important topics.
Whether you are you a seasoned Field Instructor or preparing for your first intern, you will find this presentation to be beneficial. Dr. Carter-Black will draw from her many years of experience as a supervisor in a child welfare setting, as well as her role as an educator.
Lunch and Networking Event
(12pm-1:30pm) Lunch Provided
Immediately following Dr. Carter-Black’s presentation, you are invited to join us for lunch and the opportunity to network with BSW and MSW students. This event allows the students to practice their networking skills in a comfortable environment, and talk with others who are in the same profession as they aspire to enter. They are looking forward to the opportunity to ask you questions about your career path, what you enjoy about the work you do, as well as hear any advice you might have for them.
Please plan to attend this important event and connect with the next generation of social workers!
