Position Requirements: Candidates must possess a LCSW or shall obtain one prior to the start of employment.  At least 25 years old, valid driver’s license. Well organized, experience with therapy and case management services. Supervisory experience preferred. Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred. Meets all applicable employment regulations set by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and other regulatory agencies.  Ability to respond appropriately to the cultural differences present among the agency’s service population.


General Job Description: Supervise approximately 12 clinical interns (MSW, MA/S Counseling) and coordinate the clinicians/interns provision of services to clients in the Behavioral Health program. Provide weekly group and individual supervision to the personnel/interns in the program.  Assure the smooth operation of the office.  Coordinate the referral and case assignment process. Ensure that all requirements for program operations including those set by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services as well as those of other regulatory agencies are met.  Serve on Management Team and maintain excellent communication with the Director of Behavioral Health and Support Services.


Specific Duties:

  • Provide direct supervision and on-the-job training to interns/therapists in the Behavioral Health Program.
  • Participate/lead clinical interventions as necessary for the training/support of the interns/program
  • Participate in interviewing, hiring and training of new interns/staff for the program.
  • Lead recruitment efforts for interns and maintain positive working relationships with identified school of social work and counseling.
  • Provide team leadership and model professional behaviors to promote the delivery of appropriate services to clients.
  • Monitor completion of all necessary program documentation, assuring compliance with all contracts, grants and regulatory agencies.
  • Participate in Management Team and communicate information between administration and the BHSS interns.
  • Maintain weekly group and individual supervision with interns.
  • Maintain a schedule that accommodates the needs of the clients/interns.
  • Develop and monitor program budgets and coordinate with Medicaid Coordinator to oversee the billing process
  • Address and resolve staff/intern issues.
  • Complete ongoing and yearly written performance evaluations and/or school evaluations for direct supervisees/interns.
  • Provide disciplinary action to direct supervisees and/or coordinate discipline concerns with schools.
  • Coordinate the referral and intake and discharge process and assign clients as appropriate.
  • Coordinate the agency’s interaction and compliance with contracts and grants for service.  Assure that all requirements are being met regularly.
  • Work with the Director of Quality Improvement to provide Outcome information to contracting agencies as necessary
  • Assure that the programs are operating at maximum level of efficiency and that all staff are providing the expected hours of direct service.
