Position Summary:
Provides assessment, individual, family and group therapy to patients needing dual diagnosis treatment at Carle Addiction Recovery Center. Participates in a multi-disciplinary team to serve the needs of patients in a stable workplace with support from all areas of the team and management.

Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Master’s Degree in Counseling or Social Work

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Illinois upon hire or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) Illinois upon hire.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
providing therapy services directly to patients.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Therapist will support patients in the recovery process by exploring their co-occurring mental health symptoms and resiliencies. Treating co-occurring mental health needs concurrently allows people endeavoring on a recovery journey to develop pro-social cognitive behavioral patterns and relational skills and reduce relapse potential. Motivational Interviewing knowledge and skill development will benefit the therapist to align with other provider’s in the patient’s multi-disciplinary team. Clinical supervision and support will be in place to maximize therapist’s skills and build capacity in treating the population.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides assessment, individual, family and group therapy to patients needing dual diagnosis treatment at Carle Addiction Recovery Center
  • Addresses clinical case disposition assignments including patient transfers, referrals and discharges.
  • Completes assessments, treatment plans and progress notes for all assigned patients.
  • Provides ongoing therapy services for patients, using techniques and interventions appropriate to the patient’s needs.
  • Works with patient to develop treatment plan, including specific goals and objectives to be addressed in treatment
  • Completes appropriate documentation in medical record within time frames established by departmental policy.
  • With permission of patient, provides communication back to referring providers about patient diagnosis, treatment plan, and progress.
  • Active participation in multidisciplinary team meeting with medical providers, nursing staff, and support staff as well as clinical team regularly to identify additional supports for patients.
  • Active participation in direct supervision to identify needs, goals, and barriers and facilitate maximum efficiency and efficacy of therapy services.
  • Active participation in clinical team meeting to explore clinical practice dynamics, give and receive guidance and support to clinical team members, and explore program strengths, barriers, or goals.
