IPHCA strives to improve the health status of medically underserved populations by fostering the provision of high-quality, comprehensive health care that is accessible, coordinated, community-directed, culturally sensitive, and linguistically competent. IPHCA represents Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) or community health centers—entities created by Congress to meet the health care needs of underserved communities and high-risk patients. IPHCA represents FQHCs from urban, suburban, and rural locations across the state of Illinois with additional sites in Iowa and Missouri. IPHCA member FQHCs service over 1.4 million patients annually. These FQHCs provide primary care, oral health, behavioral health, substance use treatment, nutrition services, enabling, and many more services to underserved populations. IPHCA connects interested students and providers to FQHCs through our complimentary recruitment program. IPHCA connects mission driven clinicians to site based on their personal and professional interests.
