Job description

The Navigator for Thriving Fathers & Families works directly with fathers by providing case management, individualized assessment, and strengths-based goal planning and implementation. In this role you will also coordinate and facilitate trainings and other father-child enrichment activities for participants and their families, and work in close collaboration with other Thriving Fathers & Families Project staff to ensure effective service coordination.

Staff are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and to submit proof of their vaccination status before their start date unless they have an agency approved medical or religious exemption. What you’ll do:

  • Develop and implement individualized and comprehensive service strategies, such as Individual Goal Plans for each participant.
  • Collaborate with our project staff and the peer Navigators in the partner agencies to establish and maintain relationships, communication and coordination.
  • Guide participants in the development of skills and strategies to assist in overcoming challenges, improving parenting skills, and making life changes to increase self-sufficiency.
  • Refer participants or family members to services and community resources as needed.
  • Actively collaborate with local job placement centers to place fathers in jobs.
  • Plan, organize and lead trainings, group discussions, classes, and father-child enrichment activities for participants and their families based on individual identified goals.
  • Collect, review and utilize data and information on clients and services to inform program/department performance.

Who you are:

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work or related field (required).
  • You have three years’ experience working in a strengths-based environment with fathers and families (required).
  • You have strong collaborative, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • You have a valid driver’s license, insurance, and a reliable vehicle.

The details:

  • Location: Provide in-person, home- and community-based services in the Bloomington, Illinois area, with the opportunity to work from our Bloomington office or your preferred location between meetings and events.
  • Schedule: Full-time, salaried, general business hours with some flexibility required for evening and weekend family visits and special occasions
  • Salary: Range starts at $37k; offers are commensurate with experience.
