RACES (Rape Advocacy, Counseling & Education Services) is seeking a compassionate individual to provide sexual violence prevention education programming to students Pre-K through 12th grade in a classroom setting during school hours (7:30 am-4 pm), or at our Urbana office during normal business hours. This is a year-round position.
Candidates must be able to work with students in a group setting, and with individuals in crisis—both in-person and over the telephone hotline. Successful candidates will have six months’ experience working with diverse populations in a school or social service setting and exemplary organizational skills. Excellent communication skills and a team-focused orientation are a must. This position requires a bachelor’s degree; the agency will provide content training on sexual violence and specific prevention programs to be used. Successful candidates must have public speaking or teaching experience. Must have reliable personal transportation.
