Public Health Educator Prevention Specialist

OMNI Youth Services, the northwest suburbs· premier youth services agency, has an excellent opportunity for a Prevention Specialist – Health Educator to educate and bring awareness to the safe use, safe storage, and safe disposal of prescription medications and opioids to help prevent prescription misuse, abuse, and diversion among adolescent athletes. This position will work with community and school personnel to develop mutually beneficial trainings and programs for teens, parents, and school staff members. This position will use methods and instruments for collecting valid and reliable quantitative and qualitative data, plan and implement training opportunities, outreach and technical assistance, and message distribution through email, social media, website, and trainings, report on program performance, and apply strategies for continuous quality improvement.

The ideal candidate will be able to work comfortably with a wide range of people, including youth, parents, school administrators, and community leaders. Candidate must possess a desire to be team-oriented and a solid belief in experiential learning. Flexibility and ability to adapt to change are critical.
