Job Title: School Social Worker Location: Mundelein, IL Pay Range: $56,000 - $69,000 Schedule: Full-Time | Contract to Hire for 2025-2026 School Year Student Population: Grades 3–5

What You’ll Do:

As the School Social Worker, you’ll play a central role in supporting students' emotional, behavioral, and social well-being through:
  • Individual and small group sessions focused on emotional regulation, social skills, and peer relationships
  • Behavioral support and classroom observations, including development and implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
  • Family engagement and collaboration to strengthen the school-home connection
  • Crisis response support for students and staff as needed
  • Contributions to IEP development and goal tracking

What You Bring on Day One:

To hit the ground running, you should have:
  • Experience working with students from low to middle socio-economic backgrounds
  • Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to connect with diverse learners
  • Skills in behavior observation, crisis management, and social-emotional development
  • Confidence navigating IEP processes and family collaboration
Bilingual skills (Spanish-English) are a plus given the community, but not required.

Onboarding & Day One:

You’ll be welcomed into a structured and thoughtful onboarding process that includes:
  • Setup of facility access, school systems, and tools
  • Walkthrough of classroom layouts and student pull-out logistics
  • Review of incoming and returning student needs
  • Family introductions and participation in full teacher orientation before students arrive

A Typical Day/Week:

  • Pull-out sessions for individual and small group work
  • Time for classroom observations to assess behaviors and develop intervention strategies
  • Daily collaboration with teachers, staff, and families
  • IEP and documentation support
  • On-call support for urgent student needs or crisis intervention
