Position Overview
As a School Social Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting students' social-emotional well-being, self-confidence, and interpersonal skills. This role is Full-Time for the 2025-2026 School Year.Key Responsibilities
- Provide pull-out support for small groups and 1:1 sessions.
- Help students develop self-confidence, self-awareness, and frustration management strategies.
- Work with students experiencing anxiety and social challenges, supporting them through structured interventions.
- Facilitate friendship groups and social-emotional learning activities.
- Collaborate with teachers, student services staff, and administration to create and implement intervention strategies.
- Work first with IEP students, as well as 504 and MTSS students.
What Skills Are Needed on Day One?
- Experience working with students on self-confidence building, anxiety management, and social skills.
- Ability to facilitate small groups and individual sessions focused on social-emotional development.
- Strong collaboration skills to work closely with teachers, staff, and families.
- Adaptability and creativity to meet student needs in a flexible, supportive environment.
What to Expect on Day One?
- Work through caseload, schedule, and IEPs with leadership support.
- Initial focus will be on IEP students as top priority, can adjust plan and approach for 504 and MTSS students depending on schedule availability.
- Leadership is very flexible and will ensure you have what you need to successfully support students.
What Does a Typical Day/Week Look Like?
- Pull-out support for a mix of small groups and 1:1 sessions.
- Groups focused on self-confidence, social skills, and anxiety management.
- Working with students on self-awareness, frustration management, and social-emotional growth.
- Minimal crisis management—the student population’s needs are developmental rather than crisis-based.
