Why Join This Team?

Looking for a school social work position where you can make a real impact in a close-knit, student-centered environment? Alden-Hebron School District offers a unique opportunity to build meaningful relationships with students, collaborate with supportive leadership, and be part of a team that truly values mental health and student success.

Key Selling Points

  • Small, Close-Knit Community
    • Build strong connections with students, families, and staff in a small district where everyone knows your name.
    • Smaller caseloads mean you can truly focus on student growth rather than just numbers.
  • Supportive & Collaborative Culture
    • Team-based approach with open-door leadership from Superintendent Tiffany Elswick and Principal Eric Slocum.
    • Strong collaboration between teachers, social workers, and student services staff.
  • Opportunities for Growth & Influence
    • As a smaller district, you’ll have a greater voice in shaping programs and policies.
    • Encouraged to innovate and bring fresh ideas to student mental health support.
  • Work-Life Balance & Family Atmosphere
    • Less bureaucracy than larger districts, allowing you to focus on students rather than paperwork.
    • Staff describe the district as a family—a supportive and welcoming environment.
  • Strong Student Services Team
    • Work alongside dedicated professionals, including other social workers, a school psychologist, and an SLP.
    • Very little crisis management, allowing you to focus on preventative and developmental support.

Position Overview

  • Adaptability and creativity to meet student needs in a flexible, supportive environment.

What to Expect on Day One?

  • Work through caseload, schedule, and IEPs with leadership support.
  • Initial focus will be on IEP students as top priority, can adjust plan and approach for 504 and MTSS students depending on schedule availability.
