University of Illinois School of Social Work

The School of Social Work invites applications for an open rank faculty position with a starting date of August 16, 2017. Applicants at all ranks and relevant disciplines will be considered. We are seeking faculty whose research and teaching focus on strategic needs across programs. This position is aligned with campus strategic priorities. Candidates can expect opportunities for transdisciplinary collaborations.

The successful candidate will have general expertise in the field of social work, the ability to maintain an active funded research agenda, and a commitment to excellence in teaching. Candidates must have a record of funded research, scholarship and teaching, appropriate for the University’s requirements for the rank. A Ph.D. in social work or related field is required; preference will be given to those who also have an MSW.

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign School of Social Work is a freestanding unit renowned for its achievements in research and teaching. The student body has grown by 50% in the last 5 years. The School is committed to developing and disseminating knowledge for practice, with special emphasis on identifying the needs of vulnerable groups, developing responsive social welfare programs, and promoting social and economic justice.
