Caila Bishop

My name is Caila Bishop. I was born and raised in the Champaign community. I am the mother of 4 beautiful children. I am a two-time graduate of the University of Illinois here at Urbana-Champaign. I am proud to be the Family Advocate Coordinator of PATH services here at the School of Social Work. I have a Bachelor’s of Elementary Education and a Master of Educational Policy Organization and Leadership. For the past 10 years I have learned, adapted, advocated and excelled in educating families, communicating with families, and supporting and leading other teachers. Having been the education coordinator of a migrant head start and having taught in many Unit 4 elementary schools I am excited to use my acquired skills here at the School of Social Work. In embracing my lived experience; as the Family Advocate Coordinator I will work to expand the reach and influence of family voice and choice as well as coordinating the efforts of Family Advocate Specialists statewide who will train and support Family Peer Supporters in the Integrated Health Home model.
