Joy Marques

Joy Marques (she, her, hers), is a graduate of the University of Illinois School of Social Work, completing her BSW in 2015 and MSW in 2016 with a concentration in Mental Health. Following graduation, Joy remained in the Urbana-Champaign community for several years working with students, children, and families. Joy worked with University Housing to build a greater sense of community and belonging for university families and continued working alongside families with children birth to three years old, to support parental mental health and child and parent relationships. As Joy lived aboard, she had the opportunity to work remotely as a social work consultant and then relocated to Chicago where she is now working remotely as the Student Success Coach at the School of Social Work. As the Student Success Coach, Joy helps connect current iBSW students to resources, provides information to interested students, and addresses concerns and issues to best support student success and the growth of the program.
