Mary Maurer

What I Do
Mary Maurer received her bachelor’s degree in family social services from Northern Illinois University in 1984 and her MSW with a school social work specialization from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1990. Mary is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and holds a Type 73 certification.
Professor Maurer has a wide range of experiences in the social work field. Prior to completing her MSW, she worked in various social service settings, with a focus on the adolescent population. She was involved in crisis intervention services, case management, and outpatient therapy. Upon completion of her MSW, she worked as a school social worker and educational consultant for fifteen years. She joined the School of Social Work in 2005 as a Field Education Liaison.
