What I Do
I graduated with a BSW (1998) and MSW (2000) from Western Michigan University. After graduation I was a program director for a Boys and Girls Club in southwest Michigan until 2007. Once moving to the Champaign area in 2007 I became the Children’s Advocate at what was known as A Woman’s Place (now known Courage Connection) working with children and families that were survivors of domestic violence. I took some time to have children and be home with them for three years and then in 2013 I began working for the Stephens Family YMCA in Champaign. During my time there I held a variety of positions ending with a dual role as the scholarship administrator and the Child Watch Director.
As a clinical assistant professor, I support BSW students as they navigate the field work portion of their studies.
Education
My bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in social work were completed at Western Michigan University.
