Research
With nearly a decade of practice experience at Uganda’s AIDS Control Program, Ministry of Health, Simon developed and implemented psychosocial, behavior change, and communication and STI/HIV prevention programs for adolescents, sex workers, and refugees. His research interests include HIV prevention, social and structural drivers for STI/HIV vulnerability, and implementation science. He utilizes participatory research approaches and implementation science theories, methods, frameworks, and models to co-create, implement, and evaluate evidence-based interventions designed to improve HIV, AIDS, and STI prevention, care, and treatment for the most vulnerable children, adolescents, emerging adults, and communities in Uganda, Sub-Saharan Africa, and around the world.
