About

Viviana Deltas is the Assistant Director of Research Programs at the Center for Prevention Research and Development (CPRD) within the University of Illinois School of Social Work in Urbana-Champaign. In her role, she serves as the Principal Investigator for research and evaluation initiatives aimed at enhancing the health and wellbeing of pregnant individuals and parents through evidence-based home visiting programs across Illinois. This includes the federally funded Maternal Infant Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) and state funded Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) Division of Early Childhood Bureau of Home Visiting grants. Viviana is a member of CPRD’s Leadership Team’s Executive Committee, contributing to center-wide administrative functions and strategic planning. Her expertise extends to substance abuse prevention and large-scale data collection projects, such as the Illinois Youth Survey, which she co-led prior to her current position. Before her tenure at the University of Illinois, Viviana was involved in research projects that assessed the interplay between physical and mental health, evaluated HIV outreach efforts, and examined access to health services. Her academic credentials include a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, a master’s in social work from Boston University and a master’s degree in Community Health from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Originally from Colombia, Viviana is deeply committed to promoting equity, inclusion, and diversity within the realms of assessment and program evaluation.
