What I Do

My background has been quite varied with most of my experiences related to macro level start-up projects on autism and community nutrition where I engaged with individuals, families, communities and other government stakeholders.  Other areas of expertise are in infant and maternal mental health, military veterans, community planning, health care policy and developmental disabilities.  Most recently, I have been exploring the role social workers have in the intersection of emerging-tech, ethical design and implementation using a social justice lens to consider the future of the profession beyond traditional practice methods.

In my primary role, as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the UIUC Field office, I serve as a pre-field seminar instructor and field liaison for aspiring BSW students as they prepare for and enter their block-placement before graduation.
