Shongha is a doctoral student in the School of Social Work. She received her BA in Social Welfare at Chung-ang University in Seoul Korea. She earned her MSW in University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign School of Social Work and completed her MSW internship at Lincoln’s Challenge Academy.
Shongha’s research area is primarily focused on bullying, cyber-bullying, and dating violence among early adolescents in middle school settings. She shows strong enthusiasm in dynamics of peer relationships and the importance of positive quality of friendship during early adolescence. Her research examines these topics for collaboration with local schools to reduce negative adolescents’ mental health outcomes (e.g., depression, suicidal ideation).
