Job description

The QI Data Specialist facilitates data collection, aggregates and prepares reports and distributes program and agency-level data to a variety of supervisors and administrators throughout the agency. The QI Data Specialist participates and facilitates agency file and utilization review activities to assure regulatory compliance and best practice. The QI Data Specialist works extensively within our client management information system to ensure data integrity, interfaces with agency staff to provide training and support and works with the developer/support staff, as needed, for troubleshooting and improving functionality. In addition, the QI Data Specialist provides ongoing support to the Director of Quality Improvement.

The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook is essential. Knowledge and experience in working with data is preferred. Knowledge, experience and interest in Illinois Medicaid rules, child welfare and/or mental health issues is preferred.
Minimum Education: Associates degree or at least 60 college credit hours with some coursework related to statistics, research or related topics is required. Bachelor’s degree in human services with coursework related to research, statistics and/or data management preferred. Experience and genuine interest in child welfare and mental health issues preferred. Must have strong problem-solving skills, great attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication and superior organizational skills. A customer-service orientation to working with coworkers is essential.
