The Michael C. Langendorf Memorial Scholarship Fund Matching Challenge
October 30, 2023
How to take participate:
The Michael C. Langendorf Memorial Scholarship Fund, initiated by Professor Sandra Kopels in honor of her cherished friend, aims to support aspiring social work students in their pursuit of effecting positive change in society. Michael’s unwavering dedication to social justice and education continues to serve as an inspiration, and we are dedicated to ensuring that his memory endures as a meaningful tribute to his family and friends.
In honor of Michael’s 70th birthday, the Langendorf family has generously extended a $10,000 matching challenge for the Michael C. Langendorf Memorial Scholarship Fund. This means that every contribution you make to the fund will be matched dollar for dollar by the Langendorf family, effectively doubling the impact of your generosity.
The aim of this initiative is to establish a permanent endowment for the scholarship, ensuring that Michael’s legacy of empathy, dedication, and commitment to social work persists for generations to come. By achieving the endowment level, the School of Social Work can provide scholarships to numerous future social work students, empowering them to follow in Michael’s footsteps.
How to take part in this opportunity:
- Spread the Word: Kindly share this matching challenge with your friends, family, and colleagues who share our commitment to honoring Michael and advancing social work education.
- Donate: Please visit the “Give Now” page to make a one-time or recurring donation. Your contribution, up to $10,000, will be automatically matched by the Langendorf family’s generous offer. Simply type “Langendorf” in the search field and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Create a Lasting Legacy: You might also contemplate becoming a founding supporter of Michael’s scholarship by making a multi-year pledge or including the fund in your estate plans. We deeply value your support and dedication to creating a lasting tribute to the remarkable Michael Langendorf. Together, we can make a substantial difference in the lives of future social work students, equipping them with the necessary resources to effect change in the world, just as Michael did.
