Illinois Medicaid Comprehensive Assessment of Needs & Strengths (IM+CANS)

All providers who use the IM+CANS tool are required to attend the one-day IM+CANS training course, which is currently being delivered by UIUC PATH personnel, via webinar, due to the pandemic.   These rules were established in 2018 by the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS), when they set the rules for utilizing the IM+CANS as the assessment tool accepted for the service of integrated assessment and treatment planning.   To view the training requirement, the link to this information is located on the HFS website at:  https://www.illinois.gov/hfs/MedicalProviders/behavioral/CommunityMentalHealthCenter/Pages/IATP.aspx
